Nick Grant and Mark Moodie, the partners of Elemental
Solutions have been designing and building reed beds
and other natural sewage treatment systems since 1989.
Whilst driven by a very hands-on approach, they are
also at the forefront of technical and theoretical development
of ecologically sound wastewater treatment influencing
and setting standards for Building Regulations and European
Norms. |

| Their approach is to look at the whole picture rather
than bolting on green technical fixes and to this
end they are also at the vanguard of water efficiency
theory and practice whether for social housing or
remote sites with no water supply. Research has led
to the development of a number of commercial products
such as a new type of waterless urinal and a high
performance 4 litre WC for use with normal drains. |

EA and CAT cover reed beds, sewage treatment and water
conservation.

In seeking to solve problems at source
they have developed a number of sludge free, compost
based technologies as well a systems for composting
sewage sludge.
Projects have ranged from single households
to sewage treatment for a small village with numerous
visitor centres, offices and public toilet facilities. |
